Copyright is an unregistered right, which in the UK arises on creation of a relevant work. There is no official register in the UK and in most countries copyright is established as soon as a particular work is created and tangible.

Copyright entitles a party to prevent others from copying a work, from issuing copies to the public, or from performing, showing, or broadcasting the work in public. The term of copyright protection depends upon the nature of the work.
